Stanley Black and Decker 3rd shift Forklift Operator in Gallatin, Tennessee

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Ensure the orderly, timely and correct flow of materials to production and/or packaging cells. Will become proficient in the safe use of all material handling equipment. Accurately perform cycle counts, warehouse audits, safe material movement in and out of storage locations, and assist warehouse team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

With minimal supervision must be able to:

  • Perform safe & efficiency material handling to/from warehouse, production floor, & shipping/receiving.

  • Read, understand, and follow production orders with high degree of accuracy.

  • Use SAP to perform accurate material transactions including production backflushing.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, & orderly warehouse & production floor, ensuring only required production materials are present on the production floor and all items are put away in the correct warehouse location.

  • Expedite materials to facility production requirements to ensure no downtime.

  • Adjust working hours and areas as focus as needed by production requirements.

  • Assist in inventory counts as required.

  • Work cooperatively with warehouse team to improve processes & standards.

  • Ability to safely move & palletize materials in shipping department. Direct load drop & hook trailers when necessary.

  • Report to supervisor daily department issues including safety, maintenance, & inventory.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

  • Ability to drive a Powered Industrial Vehicle safely and properly

  • Basic shop math and computer skills

  • Basic knowledge of tolerance and quality inspection procedures

  • Ability to pay close attention to detail

  • Able to lift 50 pounds, operate pallet jack, and maneuver carts

  • Ability to read and write English; understand and comprehend instructions for safety and quality

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Flexibility to work overtime

Work Experience

  • Experience driving Powered Industrial Vehicle in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.

  • Familiarity with SAP or other materials management systems preferred.

  • Able to use Microsoft Office (Excel)
