What You’ll Do

As a Process Technician, you’ll be part of our team located in Gallatin, TN. You’ll get to:

  • Follow Safety Procedures including but not limited to Lock Out / Tag Out, Crane Inspection, Housekeeping.

  • Set & start up production jobs while using current process procedures and databases for documenting and troubleshooting.

  • Perform Set-up, Start-Up, and Shutdown of all molding and auxiliary equipment.

  • Monitor all manufacturing processes. Maintain optimization of all equipment.

  • Report any issues with injection molds, make recommendations for refurbishment based on production factors

  • Respond to machine alarms and quality concerns in a timely manner.

  • Address unacceptable reject levels.

  • Work with quality and production personnel to ensure molded components meet requirements.

  • Record & communicate any changes such as but not limited to correct quality concerns and cycle time.

  • Make minor repairs such as fuses on mold temperature controllers. Duties include inspecting and replacing hydraulic and water lines and wiring to and from the mold.

  • Evaluate molding processes to update and improve quality, cycle time and efficiency while maintaining safety & productivity.

  • Develop new processes for molds moving to alternate machines and new launch products as needed to meet quality and production goals.

  • Set up, calibrate, and ensure proper operation and LDR (Let Down Ratio) of all auxiliary equipment such as but not limited to color feeders and blenders.

  • Work with engineering, vendors to resolve machine and material issues.

  • Review production orders scheduled to run on a daily and weekly schedule.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to mold setters, operators, and other molding personnel.

  • High School diploma or GED is required.

  • Technical College/Injection Molding Apprenticeship highly desirable.

  • 5+ years of Plastic Injection Molding experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Scientific Injection Molding is a plus.

  • Pneumatic and hydraulic connect understanding/knowledge

  • Able to be trained to operate a PIV
