PRODUCTION MANAGER

Role description:

The Production Manager is responsible for managing the shopfloor activities ensuring the correct functioning of the departments in compliance with the programmed production plans, execution times, product quality and production costs.

Responsibilities:

  • Guarantee the correct execution of the established production plans;

  • Plan, in agreement with Maintenance, the ordinary and extraordinary maintenance operations;

  • Play a coordinating role in the resolution of non-routine problems that arise in the Departments, resorting, if necessary, to the support of the Support Functions or Management;

  • Collaborate with the times and methods department in formulating standard operating methods for the various staff duties;

  • Verify compliance with standards, with the collaboration of the Value Stream Leaders;

  • Guarantee the achievement of the production KPI's such as: Efficiency, Supply Mix; Scraps , Schedule Attainment, ecc..;

  • Plan, also in collaboration with other functions and figures involved, the means and operating procedures necessary for the maintenance / achievement of the agreed objectives;

  • Supervise the implementation of improvement actions within the departments;

  • Verify the consistency between expected results and actual results, planning corrective actions if necessary, in accordance with the figures and functions involved in the improvement process;

  • Follow the processes of technological modernization and their effects on the Department's activities, with an active role in reporting any problems or need / opportunity for improvement;

  • Play a primary role in the assessment and selection of newly hired personnel;

  • Identify any training needs of the personnel, also in relation to the improvement projects in progress, and agree on the training interventions with the Human Resources function;

  • Defining, with the collaboration of the Value Stream leaders, the support periods for newly hired personnel and those to be carried out to respond to specific needs for versatility / training of existing personnel;

  • Monitor the attendance of ward staff and evaluate critical situations regarding absenteeism;

  • Report to the HR function any behavior not in line with the regulations in order to evaluate disciplinary sanctions against department staff;

  • Forward suggestions to the Human Resources function regarding merit bonuses and salary increases;

  • Play a central role in the resolution of conflicts, even latent and unexpressed, that arise within the Department staff;

  • Participate on a daily basis in the coordination meeting with other entities on issues relating to the normal performance of production activities and on any issues of an extraordinary nature;

  • Be the guarantor of the application and compliance with the rules of hygiene and safety as required by current legislation and company policies.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering;

  • At least 7 year experience;

  • Specific Skills: MS Office, Outlook, SAP;

  • Knowledge of CAD is a plus;

  • Knowledge and implementation of Lean Thinking principles in the environment;

  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills;

  • Strong group facilitation and leadership skills;

  • Problem solver with a structured and methodical approach;

  • Excellent communication and listening skills;

  • Results oriented;

  • Emotional agility and adaptation to change;

  • Comfortable with data and analytics;

  • Highly organized with outstanding attention to detail;

Excellent knowledge of English and Italian language.
