The Job:

The Finance Director, Latin America Manufacturing, serves as the primary finance and accounting leader over manufacturing operations in the region, which consists of 9 factories (5-Mexico, 2-Brazil, 1-Argentina, 1-US/TX) and $1.9 billion of annual production value. This leader is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of financial statements and serves as the primary business partner of the LAG Manufacturing Director to meet and exceed financial commitments. Additionally, this role leads and mentors a large team of 40+ associate across 3 countries.

Functions as finance leader and primary business partner to LAG Manufacturing Director:

  • Drives cost and cash performance across the region in line with global manufacturing standards.

  • Works cross functionally with regional supply chain teams to drive financial performance.

  • Manages core financial routines, including actual, forecast and budget processes across LAG manufacturing sites.

  • Analyzes and interprets plant performance, evaluating variances and assessing the effects on region results.

  • Assesses capital needs and drives capital prioritization across region in collaboration with manufacturing partners.

  • Provides scenario modeling and ad hoc analysis in a business case format to help drive business decisions.

  • Leads and/or participates in performance reviews with operations leadership.

Maintaining a strong control environment and accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and company policy:

  • Managing a complete and thorough month-end and quarterly close process.

  • Drives compliance and improvements to plant internal controls via site reviews and SOX requirements.

  • Encourages a strong culture of balance sheet ownership and monitoring among site Controller teams.

  • Leads fixed asset controls through CIP reviews, monitoring asset expenditures and fixed asset audits.

  • Proactively identifies business or accounting risks and implements countermeasures where appropriate.

  • Supports internal and external audits, assuring minimal findings and timely closure of required actions.

  • Maintains local country financial statements and statutory requirements.

  • Be a strong example of integrity and ‘Doing the Right Thing’.

Manages others by providing ongoing development, mentoring, and strong learning experiences by:

  • Providing effective leadership to direct reports, and extended staff.

  • Providing continuous coaching and feedback to drive team’s personal and professional development.

  • Driving organization effectiveness and succession planning aligned with company objectives.

  • Working effectively in a matrix environment and liaising with various business functions and leaders.

  • Supports shared service and COE optimization to drive functional excellence.

The Person:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA or MBA a plus

  • 8-10 Years Finance/Controllership experience supporting operations

  • USGAAP, MEXGAAP, SOX & Manufacturing Cost experience

  • Strong experience with Maquiladora program requirements

  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish languages

  • SAP and HFM experience a plus

  • Strong US GAAP and local statutory experience

  • Travel 25% within LAG, primarily in Mexico
